Support Groups for Patients and Caregivers

Talking with others who have walked the same path can ease isolation, reduce stigma, and provide comfort. Fight CRC partners with leading organizations to offer safe, supportive spaces — both online and in-person — where you can connect and heal.

Support groups help normalize your experience and remind you that you are not alone.

Colorectal Cancer Support: Community, Resources, and Care

A colorectal cancer diagnosis is shocking and life-changing. It’s normal to feel scared, overwhelmed, or uncertain about what comes next. But you are not alone. At Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC), we provide the resources, community, and support you need to face every stage of this disease — from diagnosis and treatment through survivorship.

Facing Colorectal Cancer as a Man

Trevor Maxwell, founder of Man Up to Cancer, challenges the old idea of “surviving like a man.” For him, survival isn’t about battle metaphors or bravado—it’s about finding brotherhood, compassion, and the real strength that comes when men choose to be vulnerable together.

Young Adult Support (AYA: Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer)

Colorectal cancer among young adults is on the rise. For those ages 15–39, a diagnosis often collides with milestones like finishing school, starting a career, or raising a family. The challenges are unique — and so is the support you deserve.

  • Education and Advocacy: Fight CRC provides resources to help young adults understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and rights.
  • Peer Support: The Colon Club offers community, mentorship, and Colon Camp — a retreat for young survivors seeking peer-to-peer connection.
  • Tailored Resources: We address fertility, dating, career disruption, and other challenges that disproportionately affect young patients.

Parents

Being a parent while managing colorectal cancer is uniquely challenging. Whether you are a patient or a caregiver, balancing treatment, care, and parenting requires extra support.

Fight CRC partners with organizations to provide:

  • Parenting resources tailored to cancer families
  • Guidance on how to talk to children and teens about cancer
  • Tools to help parents navigate family life during treatment

Read Stories

Sometimes the best support comes from hearing the experiences of others who have walked the same path. Survivor and caregiver stories remind us that while colorectal cancer changes lives, it does not define them.
