Chris Sigler is a stage 3B colon cancer survivor diagnosed in December 2021 after his first colonoscopy. Throughout his cancer journey, Chris saw firsthand how a cancer diagnosis can profoundly affect all aspects of life. He also saw how treatment options, outcomes, and research funding have stagnated for the colorectal cancer community. Motivated by this experience and buoyed by over 30 years of professional advocacy experience as a trial lawyer and lobbyist, Chris decided to act. He is passionate about advocating for increased research funding, working with scientific researchers so that research proposals are informed by patient perspective, and spreading the word about the importance of routine colorectal cancer screenings. Chris is guided by his desire to see better treatment options and outcomes. Chris lives in Centreville, Virginia, with his wife, Lauri, son, Davis, and his dog Ypres.
