"Even in pain, there’s purpose. Behind every battle, there's a beast!"
My dad passed away in 2008 from stage IV colorectal cancer at just 50 years old, leaving behind my mom, my sister, and me. Before cancer, he was strong, athletic, and full of life. He loved fishing, basketball, music, and family BBQs. Everything changed when he noticed blood in his stool, but he decided to wait for his upcoming 50-year screening. By the time he saw a doctor, it was too late. After surgery and nine months of fighting, he lost his battle. We honor his legacy by raising awareness, so others don’t face the same loss. Colorectal cancer is preventable; we need more research, education, and early screening.
