Colon - Stage II |

Age at Diagnosis: 28

Filled with doctor’s visits, blood draws, iron infusions, and even an ER trip. Everyday tasks became exhausting until lab results revealed dangerously low hemoglobin. A colonoscopy soon uncovered a 6 cm tumor, and at 28, I was diagnosed with stage II colon cancer. My surgeon removed 2 ft of my colon and 41 lymph nodes. Being the first in my family to face cancer was isolating, and trusting my body again has been a challenge. I’m endlessly grateful for my family, friends, and therapist who carried me through. Now, I hope to raise awareness—because a simple colonoscopy truly can save a life.
