I was diagnosed this year at the age of 38. I first started asking my primary about symptoms in 2020 but was always met with a “it’s probably this”, “it’s probably that” until my pain and symptoms were so bad I went to the clinic and finally got someone to listen and refer me to gastro in 2025. I scheduled a colonoscopy and when the polyps were removed, the doctors didn’t make a mark on the site because they were so sure it wouldn’t be cancerous. When they did come back as cancer, the doctors were very surprised, and the surgeon wanted to get right in to perform a restructure before the clips fell out where the polyps were removed. Everything moved so quickly and was very scary. I would love to bring awareness to earlier onset CRC, for doctors in my area and for people experiencing symptoms.
