My 29-year-old son, Andrew Reaster, was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer in January 2025 and passed away on August 9, 2025. He had no symptoms until a week before his diagnosis, by which time the cancer had already spread to his liver and lungs.

Early-onset colorectal cancer is now the leading cause of cancer death for individuals under age 50, yet funding and awareness remains dangerously low. Because it is often diagnosed too late, the survival rate is less than 13%. I have become a dedicated advocate for awareness to prevent other families from enduring this tragedy. I have already met with Governor Kemp and will continue to do what I can until there is a cure. Furthermore, I promised my son to tell the world about him and intend to keep my promise.
