"Don't give up. Find community and purpose in your cancer journey."
Diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer at the ER Labor Day weekend 2019 at age 47. During my initial hospital stay, I had a colon resection to remove the primary tumor & began an over 5-year journey of treatments, surgeries, and complications. I underwent 6 rounds of chemotherapy, a Y90 radiation treatment to address the metastases to my liver, began immunotherapy treatments that would span 5 years, had a liver resection where 90% of my liver was removed, had not one but 2 diaphragmatic ruptures as a result of post-surgical complications, and had a hysterectomy and oophorectomy as preventative measures due to Lynch Syndrome. I’ve been NED since May 2020 and completed immunotherapy December 2024. I’m now in heavy surveillance mode. I want to use my story to fight for more awareness, research, funding, TIME.
