Patricia's story

In April 2012, I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer.

I had surgery on May 7, 2012, and found that it was in my lymph nodes so I started my journey with chemo and radiation eight weeks later.  

I have wonderful doctors, and the treatment teams were loving and caring: a real family. I am also blessed with the most wonderful family who were with me every step of the way. I am very happy to say my last PET scan has shown no evidence of cancer in my body.

Patricia's advice

Don't forget who you are during this fight. This is what will keep you strong.  

Don't be afraid to talk about what you are going through.

Just remember that it takes a village to survive this beast, and depend on every one of them to help you. And don't forget to smile!

What One Million Strong means to me

One Million Strong means to me that more and more people are surviving this deadly disease and soon, through the efforts and research sponsored by this organization, we may totally eradicate colorectal cancer entirely.
