Jami_Davis Share-StoryHow do YOU define One Million Strong? I define One Million Strong as hope - hope that this number grows to many, many more survivors because one day we will have a cure! Where have you drawn strength? From my faith, my family, my friends, and my coworkers who have all been amazing! I cannot imagine going through what I have this past year without them! Who is your champion? I cannot pick just one or even a few. My champions are those that have traveled this path before me, including my grandfather, Norman Mandy, who was a colorectal cancer survivor. Also my daughter, my parents, my siblings and my very dear friends who are cancer survivors and those who are cancer patients...we have all leaned on one another for support and learned from one another what it takes to get through this journey, including Cathy Tuggle, Brenda and Greg Calhoun, Gary Grimes, Randy Henniger, Sheri Nesmith, and many others. My coworkers have been absolutely amazing and have lifted me up in some of the darkest hours. And last, but certainly not least, the many doctors and nurses and health care professionals that have fought by my side to make sure I was still here to finish raising my daughter. What is one piece of advice you would like to share with others? Never give up. Be your own hero. A positive attitude goes a long way to help getting you through the rough times. Research everything, really talk with your doctors, ask lots of questions. And speak out and be an advocate - you never know whose life you might save I AM a single mother, a daughter, an aunt, a niece, a sister, a friend, and stronger that I ever thought I could be...I am Wonder Woman! 😉 I AM an advocate, an ostomate, and a SURVIVOR! I AM STRONG! Want to share your story? Submit yours today!
