"Every moment there are 1000's of people dedicated to finding a cure."
My diagnosis came very quickly. For a few weeks I had experienced fatigue and loss of appetite. I’ve always been a workaholic and chalked the symptoms up to that. One night I awoke with extreme pain in my stomach and we rushed into the hospital. I could barely walk. After hours in the ER and a CT Scan, we found out my liver was covered in lesions.
We quickly moved to a colonoscopy, then Colon surgery to remove the mass. We began chemo a month later. After two and half years on chemo, with various first line treatments and radiation, we are now moving into a clinical trial as we’ve seen progression on my liver and into my lungs.
The mental and physical load has been extremely overwhelming. After two years of fighting depression/anxiety, we are feeling hopeful and optimistic for the trial.
