Patients & Survivors Stage IV Rectal Cancer Connecticut
Back to Champion Stories

“In May 2018 at the age of 30 I was diagnosed with stage IV rectal cancer. Not even a month after that I was told that it had metastasized to my lung and liver! Surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation with hospital stays was the norm for me, my family and friends. Having all of them by my side helped so much! I had surgery in 2019 to remove a mass from my rectum and add a permanent colostomy! June 2020 then in September 2020, scans showed it had returned in the lung which means I will be doing treatment again soon! Together we will fight!”

Advice: “Listen to your body and always think positive! We are in this together!”
