These two sweet little girls are too young to know it now, but one day I hope to be able to tell them how they saved my life. When I started babysitting them, I was in the first year of being diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer and my doctors were optimistic that they would be able to get all the cancer through chemo and surgery! They were right - they did and by November 2021 my scans showed no evidence of disease. Unfortunately I the cancer came back and March 2022 it was confirmed it was back and very angry! I was able to watch these two littles (one of which was born on my birthday and happens to have a mimi that is my best friend) until April 2023 when it was decided that I would have to go to Texas for Clinical Trial at MD Anderson. I am still watching one of the littles starting back full time as long as my medication is somewhat good to me - but having them in my life has made a huge difference. I fight the cancer to be able to watch them grow up. I fight cancer to be able to protect them from having to go through what I have gone through. I fight cancer, because I cannot imagine how it would be on either one of them if they had to say goodbye to their Ashie. These two little girls and their family has become my family and I wouldn't have it any other way! Ashie loves you Emmy and 'Lana <3
