June is National Cancer Survivor Month

This month, we celebrate YOU! All of our colorectal cancer survivors and the loved ones who support them. Fight CRC President, Anjee Davis, shares what we're doing in survivorship this month.

Anjee Davis shares what's in store for Cancer Survivor Month

June is Cancer Survivor Month and we're celebrating you by pushing the boundaries and searching for answers for why early-age onset colorectal cancer is on the rise and what we can do to stop it.

By 2030, colon cancer cases are expected to increase by 90%. Rectal cancer cases are expected to increase by 124% in patients age 35 and younger. For the age group 20-49, colorectal cancer is estimated to become the leading cause of cancer-related deaths by 2030.

This is not okay, and we're not willing to wait for the answers. That's why we're bringing together international experts and putting the patient voice at the discussion table at our Rally on Research, coming up on June 24 and 25. It's free to attend and we need you there.

In addition to the Rally on Research, we're excited to launch our survivorship care planning resources this month. We've got all the tools you need if you've completed active treatment or are currently in maintenance treatment. From videos and downloads to interactive discussion sessions, these tools were created for you -- go check them out! Something else of interest to survivors is our podcast on June 29, Facing Colorectal Cancer as a Man

Last but not least, the annual research conference hosted by the American Society of Clinical Oncology -- called ASCO -- happened earlier this month and we're unpacking the "must know" details for you in a blog post by our clinical trial curators and a webinar on June 30 with Dr. Scott Kopetz of MD Anderson. You don't want to miss it!
