Change Policy

hero symbol

Most social movements in American history involve politics. Men and women elected to represent us set national priorities through their votes and decisions. Members of Congress need to hear from you to accurately represent you.

The first amendment gives us the right to “petition the government for a redress of grievances.” That means we have the right (and responsibility!) to speak out about issues that affect colorectal cancer patients.

As complex as politics may be, advocacy is simple. It’s simply sharing your story and asking your member of Congress to support you by taking specific actions. Fight CRC will walk you through how to do this, whether you’re a pro or just starting out.

Members of Congress will associate YOUR story and YOUR face with the issues at hand when they go to vote on big decisions in Washington that impact CRC patients. It’s critical they know your story and hear from you before they go to vote.

To get started and change policy with us, register as an advocate. We’ll notify you when it’s time to take action on pressing issues.

We’ll let you know when something’s happening in Washington that needs your support. We closely monitor issues that could affect colorectal cancer patients and those who need to be screened.

Our Policy Strategist works on the Hill year-round to stay updated on the latest issues. Our Advocacy Manager creates tools and opportunities for you to take action and make your voice heard. We’re the first to know what members of Congress are voting on when it impacts colorectal cancer.

When an important vote or decision is coming up, we’ll email you with ways to contact your members of Congress and let them know your position on the issue at hand. These action alert emails include petitions, emails to Congress and social media posts. We pre-write the messages incorporating our research and legislative goals. All you have to do is click “send.”

It’s seriously that simple.

While it’s an easy task on your end, when thousands of messages go out together, it makes a BIG impact and gets a lot of attention! See active alerts now!

Advocacy Campaigns

Advocacy is most powerful when many people step out and participate. Each year we organize several efforts to unite the grassroots community from all over the country. Advocates come together for:

Our advocacy campaigns bring the Fight CRC community together to send a message bigger than each of us can when standing alone. Changes in policy can only occur when we all work together.
