The first amendment gives us the right to “petition the government for a redress of grievances.” That means we have the right (and responsibility!) to speak out about issues that affect colorectal cancer patients. As complex as politics may be, advocacy is simple. It’s simply sharing your story and asking your member of Congress to support you by taking specific actions. Fight CRC will walk you through how to do this, whether you’re a pro or just starting out. Members of Congress will associate YOUR story and YOUR face with the issues at hand when they go to vote on big decisions in Washington that impact CRC patients. When an important vote or decision is coming up, we’ll email you with ways to contact your members of Congress and let them know your position on the issue at hand.
