La Lucha contra el Cáncer Colorrectal y la Clínica Mayo lanzan la campaña #StrongArmSelfie para concienciar sobre el cáncer colorrectal

Da un "golpe de fuerza" y publica para concienciar sobre la segunda causa de muerte por cáncer

ALEXANDRIA, VA - 23 de febrero de 2015 - El cáncer colorrectal afecta a 1 de cada 20 personas y es la segunda causa de muerte por cáncer entre hombres y mujeres en EE.UU. Para concienciar, fomentar las pruebas de detección y unir a los más de un millón de supervivientes de la enfermedad, Fight Colorectal Cancer y Mayo Clinic han creado la campaña en redes sociales #StrongArmSelfie. La campaña pide a las personas que publiquen en las redes sociales una foto en la que aparezcan flexionando un "brazo fuerte", lo que aumentará la concienciación y la recaudación de fondos. Por cada foto publicada con el hashtag #StrongArmSelfie, Bayer HealthCare donará $1 a la Lucha contra el Cáncer Colorrectal.

En #StrongArmSelfie page houses the photos feeding from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, Google+ and Flickr. It also offers links to content from Mayo Clinic with information on the signs and symptoms of colorectal cancer, a video from Mayo Clinic gastroenterologist Paul Limburg, M.D., M.P.H., on screening options and resources available to patients.

“Nearly 50,000 people die from colorectal cancers each year, but it’s actually quite preventable,” said Dr. Limburg. “We’re pleased to participate in this campaign with Fight Colorectal Cancer and encourage screening and prevention. Colon cancer screening is highly effective and there are many options. We want everyone to know that the best screening test is simply the one that gets done.”
